A Great Month at Busam Subaru!

As I write this post and look out my window, the snow is really coming down! This is the fitting time to write this post, because it marks the end of November, and the beginning of Winter.

This past month was Love a Pet Month at Busam Subaru (#loveapet). We partnered with 4 local animal rescues and pledged to donate $100 for each new Subaru sold in November.

We are SO EXCITED to report we (with our customer’s help) raised $2,000!!! I will be visiting each of the shelters and delivering their checks in the coming weeks.

Make sure to check back on the blog, as well as our Facebook page and Twitter handle to catch all the fun videos and photos that are sure to come!

Even though Love a Pet at Busam Subaru is over, the “Share the Love” event is still in full force at the dealership. Subaru USA is donating $250 to one of five participating organizations (ASPCA is an option!) for every new Subaru sold.

So, if you’re in the market for a vehicle, and would like to help a good cause, stop by and take care of both at the same time!

The Far Side of the Moon ~ This Week in History Since 1909

Alright, so is everybody ready for Halloween? I am super excited, I have my costume prepared, party picked, and scaring planned. To keep with the theme of the season, I have picked one particularly interesting fact for This Week in History since 1909 ~ Did anyone else know….

October 26, 1959 –

The world sees the far side of the Moon for the first time.

So weird to think that it took so long to see the far side of the moon. Unfortunately, we will only have a crescent moon on Halloween, but I’m sure the creatures of the night will still be out!

Speaking of creatures that lurk in the darkness, what “creature” scares you the most?

I’m looking forward to hearing some creepy comments!

The Bike Got Rolling!

Last night was the first of 5 races for The Devou Park Race Series.

Three words: IT WAS AWESOME!!!!

We got set up around 6:00 with our tent, signs, and a 2011 Subaru Outback!

After we were all set up the racers started riding in, A LOT or racers! There were three races and each had really solid fields; in terms of numbers and talent.

The women’s race was first with 17 riders. I was driving the pace car (2010 Subaru Forester) with my co-pilof Jason Reser, owner of Reser Bicycle Outfitters). I had my foot on the gas the whole time! It was so cool to take the sharp right turn and head down the hill!!!

Joe Busam drove the pace car during the other two races. It worked out well because I was able to hang out the massive sunroof the Forester has, and take video and pictures.

(To view videos from last night – Visit Busam Subaru on YouTube)

Trying to HANG ON!!!

This is the crazy 180 degree turn where we had one wreck last night. Luckily, everyone was fine, but it’s an INTENSE turn!!

Have to Be Smart Around the Turn

The races lasted until 9, and we TONS OF FUN! To learn more info on the rest of the race series interested racers/bikers should register at Big Dave Sports

We hope to see a lot more people out next week!

Looking for something fun to do this summer? You’re in luck! The Devou Park Race Series will be taking place 5 consecutive Wednesdays from July 14 – August 11.

The race is being presented by Reser Bicycle Outfitters, Fusion Studio, BigDave Sports and Busam Subaru. It is intended to give entry level racers, women and high school aged juniors the opportunity to get additional racing experience on a slightly challenging course.

A Bird's Eye View of the Race Course

There will be 5 races each night, and the series will last for 5 weeks. Racers will receive points for each race depending on their finishing positions. At the conclusion of the 5 week series a winner be announced based on accumulated points.

The races will be a crit, or criterium, format. Meaning, the racers will race on a 1 mile loop, or circuit, through the park. The streets will be closed down during the races, and to increase the safety of racers and attendees Busam Subaru will be providing a pace car.

Interested racers can register at www.bigdavesports.com or contact Dave Riemenschneider directly: bigbikerdave AT gmail DOT com.

We hope you’ll be able to come out, watch some live racing and visit us at the Start/Finish line!

A Very Busy Busam Weekend!

This weekend was the kickoff to a great summer of events for Busam Automotive. And oh man, what a weekend it was… 3 events in 2 days!

Event #1: Friday from 5 – 11 pm — Cincy Chic’s Red, Pink and Blue Event (@CincyChic)

The Red, Pink and Blue Event was a fashion show on The Purple People Bridge at Newport on the Levee. We brought down three of our most chic Nissan’s to compliment the great looking crowd! We brought a 2010 Nissan 370 Z, 2010 Nissan cube, and a 2010 Nissan Rogue!

What A Good Looking Nissan Rogue!

This Nissan Z was Red, Pink and Blued Out!

Instead of raffling off a weekend lease, or giving out service coupons we decided to theme our booth, “Live the Runway, Rule the Roadway”. We partnered with Spaaaah! and The Iron Horse Inn and raffled off 4 massages and dinner for 4! To get entered in the drawing contestants had to fill out an entry form, AND get their photo taken by professional photographer Kate Messer! Everyone had a lot of fun, we had red, pink and blue boas for everyone to use in the pictures.

Event #2: Saturday from 9 am – 3 pm — The Ohio Riverway’s Paddlefest (@Paddlefest)

I had always heard about Paddlefest, knew it was a kayaking event of some sort, but wasn’t really sure what it was all about. Luckily, through our partnership with Reser Bicycle Outfitter’s we were able to sponsor the event and bring down a few of our new Subaru models. We brought a 2011 Subaru Outback and a 2010 Subaru Forester.

At Paddlefest we had a great spot right next to the band, that made for a great afternoon. The best part about the day was being able to talk with other Subaru lovers! People came up all day long telling us about their Subaru, and how many miles were on it. We heard about on Subaru owner for life who had taken 2 of her Subaru’s back and forth from ALASKA! Pretty cool stuff!

Event #3: Saturday 4 pm – 8 pm — The Hyde Park Blast (@HydeParkBlast)

If you’ve never been to a live bike race, put it on the list! They are all kinds of fun! We had a great spot along the race course where racers would FLY down the hill and then head for home!

Our spot was also the staging area for all the racers. Here is a shot of Team Reser before their big race. Jason Reser, owner of Reser Bicycle Outfitters came in second in his flight!

This weekend was an awesome kick off to the summer for Busam Auto! Fashion shows, kayakers + paddlers, and bike races — Bring it on!!!
